چکیده
Vitiligo is a polygenic acquired skin disorder resulting from the destruction of melanocytes in epidermal cells. Conventional therapeutic options include covering agents, topical corticosteroids, immunomodulators, phototherapy with psolaren ultraviolet A (PUVA) and narrowband B (NBUVB). However, successful repigmentation these modalities expected only half patients. This study aimed to compare efficiency Vitix® gel combined NB-UVB versus alone treatment vitiligo lesions. Thirty patients were enrolled this study. All had relatively symmetrical lesions received combination on one side other side. Data analyzed using Wilcoxon Mann-Whitney tests. Twenty-five completed course (68% female, age: 32.3 ± 13.5 years). Five excluded due noncompliance follow-up. The highest response rate was observed upper limb’s no statistical difference treated after adjusting for age, sex lesions’ site (p > 0.05). Significant additional clinical not by adding NBUVB therapy

No additional effect of topical calcipotriol on narrow-band UVB phototherapy in patients with generalized vitiligo.
BACKGROUND/PURPOSE There is no definite cure for vitiligo; however, treatment responses with photobiological modalities are quite acceptable. Of all these, narrow-band UVB phototherapy was proposed rather recently. Calcipotriol has been shown to have stimulating activity on melanogenesis besides immunomodulatory and anti-inflammatory effects. This study was performed to determine whether adding...
متن کاملEvaluation of Efficacy and Safety of Combination of Narrow Band Ultraviolet B and Topical Calcipotriol Versus Narrow Band UVB alone in the Treatment of Vitiligo
Background: Narrow band Ultraviolet B (NBUVB) has been used successfully for the treatment of vitiligo. Recently, topical calcipotriol has also been used as immunotherapy or as a part of combination therapies. The aim of this study was to compare the clinical efficacy and safety of NBUVB and NBUVB plus topical calcipotriol in the treatment of generalized vitiligo. Methods: NBUVB phototherapy was...
متن کاملEvaluation of the Efficacy of Topical Ethyl Vanillate in Enhancing the Effect of Narrow Band Ultraviolet B against Vitiligo: A Double Blind Randomized, Placebo-Controlled Clinical Trial
Background: Vitiligo is an acquired disease of skin that presents with depigmented patches due to lack of melanocytes in the epidermis. Accumulation of toxic free radicals like hydrogen peroxide in the epidermis may be responsible for melanocytes death. Since ethyl vanillate (vanillic acid ethyl ester) is a strong hydrogen peroxide scavenger, it may be effective against vitiligo. This study was...
متن کاملEvaluation of narrow-band UVB phototherapy in 150 patients with vitiligo.
BACKGROUND Very few studies have been performed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of narrow-band ultraviolet B (NBUVB) therapy in Indian patients with vitiligo and are of small sample size. AIMS The purpose of this study is to know the efficacy and safety of NBUVB in 150 vitiligo patients of various age groups. METHODS One hundred fifty patients (69 males, 81 females), aged 3-70 years, wi...
